Asa Butterfield, Noah Centineo, & Jaeden Martell Star in Our Hero, Balthazar’s Dark Trailer

Picturehouse has officially released the first trailer for Our Hero, Balthazar, a dark comedy starring Jaeden Martell, Asa Butterfield, and more. Our Hero, Balthazar is set to release in theaters on March 27, 2026, in New York, April 3 in Los Angeles, and additional cities to follow.

“Eager to impress his activist crush, a wealthy New York teenager follows an online connection to Texas, where he’s convinced he can stop an act of extreme violence,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

What happens in the Our Hero, Balthazar trailer?

The trailer follows the story of Balthazar (Martell), a wealthy teenager who tries to gain his crush’s attention by portraying himself as someone dedicated to the cause of advocating for stricter gun laws. After a video of his goes viral and is trolled, he meets one of them, Solomon (Butterfield), online, who he believes is planning on committing a school shooting. Balthazar attempts to befriend Solomon to keep him from doing it.

Alongside Martell and Butterfield, Our Hero, Balthazar also stars Noah Centineo, Chris Bauer, Jennifer Ehle, Anna Baryshnikov, Becky Ann Baker, Avan Jogia, and Pippa Knowles. The movie is directed by Oscar Boyson, from a script co-written by both Boyson and Ricky Camilleri.

Boyson, Camilleri, Jon Wróblewski, David Duque-Estrada, Miles Skinner, Alex Hughes, Paul Paul, and Jaeden Martell all serve as producers on the project. Martell is best known for his roles in the It movies, as well as in 2024’s Y2K. Butterfield is best known for his roles in movies like The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Hugo, Ender’s Game, and the Netflix comedy series Sex Education.
