Gen V Season 3 Update Is Great News for The Boys Fans

Gen V Season 3 has received a promising update ahead of The Boys‘ Season 5 return.

What is the new Gen V Season 3 update?

While The Boys will end with Season 5, it’s unclear whether the spin-off series Gen V will return for a third season on Prime Video. Recent comments suggests Gen V might be returning for another season.

The Boys stars Karl Urban and Laz Alonso recently participated in a panel discussion at Seattle’s Emerald City Comic Con 2026. During the conversation, Alonso revealed which shows will continue The Boys’ “legacy” after it ends.

“You got Gen V and then Vought Rising, which are the two shows that gonna probably continue the legacy as we finish our chapter in storytelling,” Alonso said via Popverse.

While not an official confirmation, Alonso’s comments imply Gen V will continue in the future.

Serving as a spin-off to The Boys, Gen V follows the young superheroes at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. The university’s goal is to find potential candidates to join Vought International and The Seven.

Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor as Jordan Li, Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, and Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher. 

Executive producer Michele Fazekas serves as Gen V’s showrunner. Additional executive producers include Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, Ori Marmur, Thomas Schnauz, Steve Boyum, and Brant Engelstein.

Gen Season 1 premiered in September 2023, and Season 2 aired in September 2025.

The Gen V update comes one month before The Boys Season 5 arrives. The first two episodes of The Boys Season 5 will premiere on April 8, 2026, on Prime Video.
