The Mandalorian Movie Won’t Give 1 Major Ability

Grogu will return to the big screen in the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, but fans should not expect one major change. A key creative voice behind the project has confirmed that the beloved character will keep one defining trait.

Grogu still won’t learn to talk like Yoda in The Mandalorian movie

Kathleen Kennedy, the longtime producer at Lucasfilm, recently cleared the air about Grogu and his role in the upcoming film. She confirmed that the fan-favorite little Force user will stay silent on screen. In other words, don’t expect him to suddenly start talking like Yoda anytime soon.

Kennedy explained that Grogu simply works better without words. His charm comes from the way he shows emotion instead of speaking. The character connects with audiences through reactions, expressions, and those quiet moments that say a lot without dialogue.

As Kennedy put it, Grogu stands as the perfect example of a character who communicates purely through feeling while never saying a single line. “Another perfect example of a character that has to emote and you have to feel connected to, and he never speaks a word,” Kennedy said during an interaction with Variety.

She also reassured fans that Grogu will keep the same silent charm in the upcoming movie. Kennedy said audiences will likely fall even harder for the little Force user once he hits the big screen, even though he still won’t say a single word.

The producer shared these updates while attending the Golden Reel Awards hosted by the Motion Picture Sound Editors in Los Angeles. The event honored her long career in filmmaking with a special award. During her speech, she spotlighted the power of sound design in movies.

“I’ve been incredibly lucky in my career to work with some of the absolute titans of this craft, people who taught me very early on that sound isn’t just pasted on at the end, it’s the heartbeat of the story that should be conceived and designed and refined from the earliest stages of the process,” Kennedey expressed.
