One of 2025’s highly rated movies from Focus Features has just been added to Netflix‘s library. Beginning today, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, starring Paul Giamatti and Michelle Dockery, is now officially available to stream on Netflix. The acclaimed period drama film served as the final installment of Julian Fellowes’ hit movie franchise, based on the award-winning TV show.

Since its debut last September, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale has received a Certified Fresh score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 143 reviews. Besides Giamatti and Dockery, the ensemble cast also featured returning cast members Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, Douglas Reith, and Dominic West. They were joined by new cast members Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan.

The movie was directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Simon Curtis from a screenplay written by Fellowes. It was produced by Fellowes, Gareth Neame, and Liz Trubridge, with Nigel Marchant executive producing. It was a production of Carnival Films, with Focus Features and Universal Pictures International distributing. During its theatrical run, the film grossed more than $100 million at the box office, which is a bit higher than the 2022 sequel’s accumulated gross of over $92 million.
