Hunt leaves Hulu in March
The South Korean action thriller Hunt, starring Squid Game actor Lee Jung-jae, will soon exit Hulu’s streaming catalog. According to Hulu’s official schedule, the film is set to be removed from the platform on March 29, 2026. The movie first premiered in South Korean theaters in August 2022 and also marked Lee Jung-jae’s debut as a feature film director.
The story unfolds within the Korean intelligence agency, where two separate divisions are assigned a high-stakes task. Foreign Unit chief Park Pyong-ho and Domestic Unit chief Kim Jung-do are ordered to identify a North Korean operative known as Donglim, who is believed to be secretly working within their own organization.
As sensitive information continues to leak, suspicion grows between them, and each side begins examining the other. During the operation, the agents begin uncovering a wider conspiracy that could endanger national security and potentially target the South Korean president.
Lee Jung-jae stars in the movie as Park Pyong-ho alongside Jung Woo-sung as Kim Jung-do. The film’s supporting cast includes Jeon Hye-jin as Bang Joo-kyung, Heo Sung-tae as Jang Cheol-seong, and Go Youn-jung as Jo Yoo-jeong.
Following its release, Hunt received mixed reactions from critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently holds a 68 percent critics rating based on 56 reviews. Meanwhile, the audience score stands at 45 percent.
Cinapse reported, “While he may be more familiar to Western audiences fresh off of his Emmy-winning turn in Squid Game, Hunt establishes Lee Jung-Jae as a bona fide action director and star. Hunt is a jaw-dropping, relentlessly-paced thriller, full of gripping tension, thought-provoking political intrigue, and edge-of-your-seat action set pieces.”
