Peacock is expanding its content library later this month with two heist films that grossed over $300 million at the box office. Following their theatrical releases, they garnered a mixed reception from critics, but performed better with audiences. Notably, these movies’ casts are led by some high-profile names from Hollywood, including Jesse Eisenberg and Mark Ruffalo.
Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 begin streaming on Peacock in March
Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 are reportedly dropping on Peacock on March 31, 2026. The films join other notable releases slated for the day, including Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained, and Silver Linings Playbook.
This comes three months after the latest entry in the Now You See Me franchise, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, released in theaters.
The original film, released in 2013, was made on a sizable estimated budget of $75 million and grossed $351.7 million at the global box office. However, the sequel, which premiered in 2016, grossed lower, making only $334.9 million globally, despite having a greater estimated budget of $90-120 million. Notably, the threequel grossed even lower, making only an estimated $243.7 million.
The films follow a group of four magicians with unique skillsets, dubbed the Four Horsemen. In the original, they perform a series of bank robberies and heists while escaping an FBI agent and an Interpol detective assigned to arrest them. Meanwhile, the second follows them stealing a data chip for a criminal mastermind.
Now You See Me has a rotten score of 51% and an audience score of 70% on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, Now You See Me 2 has lower rotten and audience scores of 34% and 53%, respectively.
Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, and Lizzy Caplan make up the main cast of the films. Meanwhile, the supporting cast includes David Warshofsky, Richard Laing, Mélanie Laurent, Common, Michael Kelly, Daniel Radcliffe, Jay Chou, Tsai Chin, Sanaa Lathan, Caitríona Balfe, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
Each film has had a different director. Fast X’s Louis Leterrier helmed the first movie while Wicked’s Jon M. Chu directed the second.
