Sci-Fi Disaster Movie Storm Rider Clip Introduces Intense Death Race | Exclusive

ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive Storm Rider: Legend of Hammerhead clip for the upcoming sci-fi adventure movie starring Vikings alum Marco Ilsø and Braveheart’s James Cosmo. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 13, 2026.

“Three centuries after the Great Flood, the world has fractured into scattered islands, forever threatened by a colossal, unending Storm. The Islanders’ only hope for safety lies in the fortified city-state of Argos – a sanctuary reachable only through perilous trials known as Storm Riding. Yet, among them, a defiant faction believes true salvation lies not within Argos, but beyond the Storm itself,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “The film follows the audacious journey of two rebellious Islanders who dare to challenge fate—racing to breach the Storm, venture into the unknown, and uncover the secret origins of their world, guarded by the immortal rulers of Argos: the enigmatic Founders.”

What happens in the Storm Rider clip?

The video introduces the audience to a dystopian world, where the planet has been scattered into islands as a result of a great natural disaster. People inhabiting the islands continue to live in fear of an unending storm. They enter a dangerous death race called storm riding in hopes of winning their people a spot in the sanctuary city of Argos, where they will be safe from the storm.

“This film was truly a labor of love that spanned many years. From the very beginning, our goal was to prove that independent IPs — when driven by scope, vision, and persistence — can stand shoulder to shoulder with major studio projects backed by massive budgets and long-established franchises,” said co-directors/co-writers/co-producers Domagoj Mazuran and Zoran Lisinac, and actor/producer Neb Chupin.

“That ambition is precisely why it took so many years, along with a great deal of sweat and tears, to bring the film to completion. We shot on location with actors, often under challenging and even risky conditions. We wanted the film to feel tangible — something physically lived, not manufactured.”

The trio also stressed that the film wasn’t made with AI.

“During that time, AI began making waves in the industry. But by the time those conversations became mainstream, our film was already finished. Some people assumed it was created with AI, yet not a single shot involved AI intervention,” said the creatives.

“That said, this isn’t a rejection of technology. AI may very well become a powerful tool for filmmakers in the future — helping visionary storytellers bypass traditional barriers and build large-scale universes on modest budgets. But this film was made the old-fashioned way: by hand, on location, with people, passion, and persistence.”

Storm Rider: Legend of Hammerhead is written and directed by Domagoj Mazuran and Zoran Lisinac. The ensemble cast also includes Billy Barratt, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Goran Bogdan, Caroline Goodall, Joey Ansah, Sergej Trifunovic, Neb Chupin, Gilles Geary, Frances Tomelty, and more. The action sci-fi movie is produced by Chupin. It currently has a runtime of 104 minutes.
