One Battle After Another 2 Teased by Teyana Taylor

Teyana Taylor recently opened up about the possibility of a One Battle After Another 2, teasing that she’s been begging for one to happen.

Speaking to Indiewire recently, Taylor spoke about her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills, a member of the revolutionary group the French 75, who is later imprisoned and escapes to Mexico during the events of the film. Taylor likes that the film ends on a more hopeful note, and mentioned to director Paul Thomas Anderson that she’d like to explore the 16 years that the film jumps following Willa Ferguson’s (Chase Infiniti) birth.

“[I tell Paul] ‘We need to see what Perfidia did in those 16 years,'” said Taylor. “But Perfidia and Willa need some scenes together. When Willa walked out the door in that last scene, I said, ‘Where’s she really going? Is she going to free Deandra? Is she going to find her mommy?’ I love that it’s still hopeful, and it’s room for a little part two in there somewhere.”

Taylor was then asked how real the conversations with Anderson were on the project. The Oscar-nominated actress confirmed they were very real, and she’d been trying to convince him of it.

“The conversations are very, very real. I want to give everybody confirmation that I am currently begging PTA to give us that. I’m begging him to give us that.”

For her role in the film, Taylor earned massive praise, as well as a litany of awards. She won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role, and was also nominated for both a Critics’ Choice Association Award, a BAFTA, and an Academy Award for the movie as well.
