Zootopia 2 Streaming Release Date Set for Beloved Disney Movie Sequel

Disney announced the streaming release date for Zootopia 2, the beloved sequel to the 2016 buddy-cop comedy.

“In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia 2, rookie cops Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De’Snake (Quan) arrives in Zootopia and turns the animal metropolis upside down,” the official synopsis reads. “To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.”

When is the Zootopia 2 streaming release date?

Zootopia 2 will begin streaming on Disney+ on March 11, 2026.

In Zootopia 2, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman returned to voice cops Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, respectively. The rest of the voice cast includes Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Shakira, Idris Elba, Patrick Warburton, Quinta Brunson, Danny Trejo, Alan Tudyk, Nate Torrence, Don Lake, Bonnie Hunt, and Jenny Slate.

Jared Bush and Byron Howard directed Zootopia 2 from a screenplay written by Bush. Yvett Merino serves as a producer.

Released in November 2025, Zootopia 2 quickly morphed into a box office juggernaut. To date, Zootopia 2 has grossed over $1.85 billion worldwide, the highest total ever for an animated movie. Zootopia 2 was the top domestic release of 2025 and the second-highest globally, behind China’s Ne Zha 2. Zootopia 2 is the fifth billion-dollar grosser for Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Besides the box office success, Zootopia 2 has been met with critical acclaim. The movie holds a 96% Verified Hot Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes and an A CinemaScore.

Zootopia 2 recently won the BAFTA for Best Animated Feature. The sequel is also one of the nominated movies for Best Animated Feature at the 2026 Oscars. In 2017, Zootopia won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
