Scarlett Johansson’s $869M Action Movie Is #1 on Netflix & HBO Max

Scarlett Johansson’s sci-fi movie has clawed its way to the top of two major platforms simultaneously. The dinosaur spectacle is currently the number one movie on Netflix in the United States and holds the top spot globally on HBO Max, giving subscribers on both services a reason to see some roaring.

Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World: Rebirth is killing it on streaming

Scarlett Johansson’s Netflix viewership has reached new heights with Jurassic World Rebirth landing as the most-watched movie in the United States. The film dropped on the streaming service nationwide on February 28 and instantly dominated the charts.

According to FlixPatrol, the prehistoric adventure is also trending in Australia (5th spot) and New Zealand (7th). It has left behind competition like Firebreak, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, and the animated hit KPop Demon Hunters.

Jurassic World Rebirth isn’t just crushing it on Netflix. The soft reboot of the iconic franchise, which began with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic, is also the most-watched movie worldwide on HBO Max. Data from FlixPatrol confirms it’s trending in 20 countries and holding the number one spot in 20 of them, including Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia.

The film stars Johansson alongside Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali as a new trio leading the franchise forward. It currently stands above Jorma Tommila’s Sisu: Road to Revenge, Brendan Fraser’s The Mummy films, the comedy classic Not Another Teen Movie, and Tom Hardy’s Locke on HBO Max’s global chart.

Jurassic World Rebirth ended its theatrical run with a massive $869.1 million worldwide. Against a reported budget of $180 million, the film gave healthy returns for the studio. While it remains the lowest-grossing entry in the Jurassic World trilogy and the first not to cross the $1 billion mark, its streaming performance tells a different story.

With this explosive debut on both Netflix and HBO Max, speculation about a follow-up is heating up.
