Producer Adam Sandler’s Roommates Gets Netflix Release Date & First Photos
Fans of Adam Sandler’s signature brand of comedy have a new project to look forward to, even if the man himself isn’t in front of the camera. Sandler’s latest production, Roommates, is officially heading to Netflix, and the streamer has just revealed both the release date and first-look photos.
Netflix reveals first photos and release date for Roommates
Netflix has confirmed that the global streaming release date for Roommates is April 17, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by new photos, giving audiences their first visual taste of the upcoming coming-of-age comedy.
One of the first look photos of Roommates features a fun, casual snapshot of the film’s lead characters. The poster showcases stars Sadie Sandler and Chloe East huddled together with others and taking a selfie, immediately setting a tone of modern youth and digital-age friendship.
The official logline of Roommates is, “When a hopeful, naive college freshman, Devon, asks the cool and confident Celeste to be her roommate, a blossoming friendship spirals into a war of passive aggression.” The project brings in director Chandler Levack, known for the critically acclaimed I Like Movies. The script comes from the pens of Saturday Night Live writers Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara Jane O’Sullivan.
Beyond the two leads, the film boasts a bench of talent. The cast includes a mix of rising stars and comedy veterans such as Sarah Sherman, Josh Segarra, Carol Kane, Janeane Garofalo, Storm Reid, Bailee Madison, and the duo of Natasha Lyonne and Nick Kroll.
While Adam Sandler will not be featuring in this particular movie, he is behind the scenes as a producer. The film is another addition to his prolific partnership with Netflix, a deal that has been running since 2015 and produced hits like Murder Mystery, Hubie Halloween, and the recent Happy Gilmore 2.
With an up-and-coming director and a cast packed with recognizable and new names, fans are excited to watch Roommates when it debuts on Netflix next spring.
