Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Movie Gets Awesome Update, Teaser Poster
A teaser poster for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has been released.
Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise officially began in 2020. Based on the Sonic video game series, that movie was followed by Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in 2022 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in 2024, while there was also a Knuckles television miniseries released in 2024. Jeff Fowler directed all three movies, with Ben Schwartz providing the voice for Sonic the Hedgehog.
What is the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 update?
On Twitter, Fowler announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has now officially begun production. He announced this news by sharing a teaser poster that sees him holding a clapperboard in one hand and Amy Rose’s hammer in the other.
It was announced last month that The Good Place and Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell would be voicing Amy Rose in the upcoming movie. Amy Rose briefly appeared at the end of 2024’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3, as she saves Sonic from a group of Metal Sonic robots. In the video game franchise, Amy Rose first appeared in Sonic CD.
The voice cast of prior Sonic movies has also included Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Power, and Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna. The live-action cast has then included Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, and Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone.
Plot details for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 remain under wraps at this time. Rumors have suggested that the storyline will be based on Sonic the Hedgehog CD’s plot, though how accurate these reports are remains to be seen when Paramount releases more information about the movie.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is currently dated for March 19, 2027. All three of the other Sonic movies can currently be streamed on Paramount+.
