Avengers: Doomsday Reshoots Get Major Update From Star
A major update about the reshoots of Avengers: Doomsday has surfaced. In a recent interview, David Harbour, who will star in the upcoming Marvel venture, confirmed his involvement in it. He plays Red Guardian in the film, marking the character’s third appearance in the MCU following Black Widow and Thunderbolts*.
David Harbour to be involved in Avengers: Doomsday reshoots
Speaking at the premiere of his new series, DTF St. Louis, the 50-year-old actor revealed that he had been “working a lot” since Stranger Things concluded. He added that he was heading to Ireland the next day and Thailand the next week.
David Harbour further stated to ExtraTV that he was also going to London to participate in the reshoots of Avengers: Doomsday for “a couple of days,” as there is a “little more shooting left.”
Based on Harbour’s comments, it can be understood that his role in the reshoots would be smaller. However, the scope of those portions is unclear as of writing.
Previously, it was reported that Avengers: Doomsday would begin reshoots in April 2026. However, last month, some photos emerged online suggesting reshoots began in London. While none of the cast members were present in the photos, a crew member was spotted wearing a jacket with the film’s logo.
However, ComicBookMovie later suggested that the shoots were likely for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. This film will first hit theaters on November 26, 2026, before dropping on Netflix on December 25, 2026. The outlet also suggested that it was likely for Nicolas Cage’s World War II-themed film, Fortitude.
Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters on December 18, 2026. Anthony and Joe Russo directed the film from Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely’s screenplay. They also co-produced the film with Marvel Studios via their production banner, AGBO. The Russos recently teased in an interview that Doomsday will have “a new level” of narrative complexity.
Apart from David Harbour, the Avengers: Doomsday cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr., among others.
