Chris Hemsworth Explains How Thor 4 Star Inspired His Tattoos
Chris Hemsworth, who will soon return to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) as Thor, explained some of his tattoos in a new podcast appearance. It seems that multiple of them are linked to his Thor: Love and Thunder co-star, India Rose Hemsworth.
Chris Hemsworth on how his daughter India was the inspiration behind his tattoos
Chris Hemsworth sat down for an interview with the Smartless podcast recently. There, he went over the inspiration behind his tattoos.
He revealed that he had a Dr. Seuss tattoo, which was in honor of his daughter, India. “My Dr. Seuss tattoo…I used to read that book to her a lot, and my mom read it to me – Oh, the Places You’ll Go – and she just would draw that little character and loved it,” the actor said, “And so I got that tattoo.”
“A few years later, I was like, I’m kinda sick of it,” he continued. “So I started getting it taken off, I did like one laser session, and then she came home one day, and she goes, ‘It’s rubbing off. What happened to it? It’s rubbing off.'” He added, “She goes, ‘No. I love it.’ So, it’s now kind of half faded, you know, but it’s still there.”
In another instance, India drew him the design that he got tattooed. Hemsworth explained, “I was sitting with a tattoo artist one night, and it was, like, 10:00, and he’s designing all these different things and all this sort of sacred geometry and trippy-looking stuff. And my daughter walked out and goes, ‘Dad, I can’t sleep. You’re making too much noise.’ I’m like, ‘Sorry. Sorry,'”
He continued, “And she sits down and starts squiggling and drew the three little images here…[My tattoo artist] looked at me and goes, ‘I think [her drawings are] way cooler than anything we’re designing, and so I took a photo of that, and that’s that.”
Besides these tattoos, Hemsworth has a matching tattoo with his wife that reads “C E I T S.” These are the initials of each of their family members. He also sports a matching tattoo with his Avengers castmates.
