X-Men Production Update Is Great News for the MCU Movie

The MCU X-Men movie has seemingly received a great update.

Marvel Studios is releasing Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in United States theaters this summer with Sony Pictures. After that, the MCU continues with December’s Avengers: Doomsday and 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, while Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, VisionQuest, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 are all expected to arrive at some point this year as well.

After Avengers: Secret Wars, many are expecting Marvel to kick off a new saga focused on mutant characters. It is known that Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is working on an X-Men movie, though that project does not yet have a release date.

What is the X-Men MCU movie update?

According to Filmbase, a UK website where those working in the film industry can find local jobs/network, there is “word” that “another X-Men movie” could be filming in the United Kingdom.

An exact production date is not given; however, X-Men is listed next to Jurassic World Rebirth 2, Fast Forever, and a Ridley Scott WW1 movie with the note that all these movies could be filming in the UK, “either in the next few months or later in the year.”

Marvel has not yet commented on the matter. If this does turn out to be true and the X-Men movie will begin production before the end of 2026, it means that casting information could be coming sooner rather than later. Fans are expressing their hopes and desires to see some official announcements made in the coming months.

For now, not much is known about the MCU X-Men movie. A handful of Fox X-Men characters are starring in Avengers: Doomsday (and potentially Avengers: Secret Wars), but whether or not any of them will be returning for any other projects remains to be seen.
