Normal Trailer: Bob Odenkirk Stars in Western Movie From John Wick Creator
Magnolia Pictures has shared the official trailer and photos for Normal, its newest crime thriller movie led by Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul). Following its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, the film is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on April 17, 2026.
“The film follows an unassuming substitute sheriff with a troubled past who, after moving to a small, sleepy town, responds to a bank robbery and unknowingly uncovers something far more explosive,” reads the official synopsis. “For Sheriff Ulysses (Odenkirk), his provisional posting to the quaint Midwestern American town of Normal was meant to be a welcome respite from both his marital woes and recent moral injuries in the line of duty. But when a botched bank robbery interrupts the municipality’s tranquil pace, a dark secret is inadvertently exposed, and Ulysses soon discovers that the town is anything but its namesake.”

What do we know about Bob Odenkirk’s Normal movie?
Normal is directed by Meg 2: The Trench filmmaker Ben Wheatley, with John Wick creator Derek Kolstad writing the screenplay, based on a story by Kolstad & Odenkirk. This marks the Breaking Bad alum’s latest collaboration with Kolstad, after previously working together in the hit action thriller franchise Nobody. The ensemble cast also includes Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod. It is produced by Marc Provissiero, Kolstad, and Odenkirk. Since its world premiere last year, the film has already garnered an approval rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 23 reviews.
