Gore Verbinski confirms he has plans for Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die 2

As Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die reaches audiences, director Gore Verbinski has hinted that the story may continue.

Addressing the film’s open-ended conclusion, Verbinski confirmed that he has developed ideas for a follow-up. In a conversation with ScreenRant, the director acknowledged that he has concrete ideas for a second film. However, he declined to elaborate on specifics. He stated that he could not discuss the details at this stage and advised fans to wait for more information. Verbinski said, “I can’t talk about them,” before adding, “stay tuned.”

Sam Rockwell, who stars as a man from the future, also commented on the film’s ambiguous ending. Despite the cliffhanger, he maintained that “there is hope for mankind” as the story moves forward. When asked about returning for a sequel, the actor said he would “definitely” be interested if Verbinski pursued another film. He playfully added that his primary request would be “a lighter suit” after finding his costume in the first film difficult to work in.

The film stars Rockwell as a man from the future attempting to prevent an artificial intelligence-driven apocalypse. Having failed multiple times, his character arrives at a Los Angeles diner for what is described as his 117th attempt to assemble the right group of individuals capable of altering the timeline.

The film, written by Matthew Robinson, was released on February 13, 2026. Other cast members include Haley Lu Richardson as Ingrid, Michael Peña as Mark, Zazie Beetz as Janet, Asim Chaudhry as Scott, and Tom Taylor as Tim, among others.
