Maika Monroe Thriller In Cold Light Gets Digital Release Date
Just under a month after its theatrical premiere, director Maxime Giroux’s Canadian thriller In Cold Light has received its digital release date. Led by Maika Monroe, who has established her place in the industry as a bona fide scream queen following her roles in The Guest and It Follows, the action-packed feature will become available for streaming sometime later this month.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed the official digital release date for In Cold Light. The Sony Pictures subsidiary will be premiering the crime thriller on VOD and digital platforms on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026.
Directed by Maxime Giroux in his English-language feature debut, In Cold Light follows the journey of a young drug lord named Ava (Maika Monroe). After getting out of prison, a determined Ava decides to go back to her decimated drug empire in a bid to return it to its former glory. However, her plans take a backseat when she gets framed for murder, which subsequently puts her in the crosshairs of the police as well as a ruthless crime boss.
Feeling cornered by all opposing forces, Ava reluctantly agrees to meet up with her estranged father. Soon enough, the two’s fractured family bond transforms into a vicious fight for survival for Ava.
In addition to Maika Monroe, the cast of In Cold Light also features Academy Award-winning Troy Kotsur, who plays Ava’s father. Meanwhile, Helen Hunt takes on the role of Claire, Ava’s rival drug lord. Finally, Allan Hawco portrays the antagonistic character of Bob Whyte.
Patrick Whistler has provided the screenplay for the Canadian action thriller, with Yanick Létourneau and Mike MacMillan coming in as the producers. The movie made its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival on June 7, 2025, before hitting theaters via Saban Films on January 23rd, 2026. In Cold Light currently holds a Rotten Tomatoes score of 50%.
