Evil Dead 7: Official Title, Production Update Revealed for Sam Raimi Horror Movie

Evil Dead 7 has been given an official title.

The Evil Dead franchise officially kicked off in 1981 with the Sam Raimi-directed movie starring Bruce Campbell. Since then, there have been four other film entries that have been released — 1987’s Evil Dead II, 1993’s Army of Darkness, 2013’s Evil Dead, and 2023’s Evil Dead Rise — while the next movie, titled Evil Dead Burn, is scheduled to arrive in theaters this summer. There was also the Ash vs Evil Dead show that ran on Starz for three seasons.

While audiences are still waiting for Evil Dead Burn, it has already been announced that a seventh film in the franchise is in the works. That movie is being directed by Francis Galluppi and will star Charlotte Hope, Jessica McNamee, Zach Gilford, Josh Helman, Ella Newton, Ella Oliphant, and Elizabeth Cullen.

What is the title of Evil Dead 7?

According to a recent listing from The Screen Industry Guild of Aotearoa New Zealand Incorporated, Evil Dead 7 will be titled Evil Dead: Wrath. The movie will begin filming around Auckland sometime this month.

Raimi — who recently directed the 2026 horror movie Send Help starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien — is producing Evil Dead: Wrath with Campbell, Rob Tapert, Romel Adam, Jose Cañas, and Lee Cronin, the latter of whom directed Evil Dead Rise.

Plot details remain under wraps at this time, meaning it’s unclear if there will be any storylines that are continued from Evil Dead Burn or any of the franchise’s other films that are featured in Evil Dead Wrath. Galluppi also wrote the script.

A release date for Evil Dead Wrath has not yet been announced.

Evil Dead Burn, meanwhile, is being directed by Sébastien Vaniček. Starring Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, and George Pullar, that movie arrives on July 24, 2026, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
