Wes Anderson Movie With Tom Hanks & Scarlett Johansson Arrives on Peacock Today
Peacock has officially added Wes Anderson‘s sci-fi comedy movie starring Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks and Golden Globe-nominated actress Scarlett Johansson. This comes more than two years after its theatrical debut, where it grossed around $54 million at the global box office.
What Wes Anderson movie is now available on Peacock?
Beginning today, Anderson’s star-studded movie Asteroid City is now finally available to stream on Peacock. Since its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, the film has received a Certified Fresh score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 363 reviews.
“It tells the story of a fictional American desert town circa 1955 and its Junior Stargazer convention, which brings together students and parents from across the country for scholarly competition, rest/recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more,” reads the official synopsis.
Asteroid City was written and directed by Wes Anderson. The movie also featured long-time Wes Anderson collaborators, including Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Bryan Cranston, Jeffrey Wright, Liev Schreiber, Tony Revolori, Jeff Goldblum, and Jake Ryan. They were joined by Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Hong Chau, Maya Hawke, Sophia Lillis, and more. The film was also produced by Anderson, Jeremy Dawson, and Steven Rales.
Anderson’s most recent directorial feature was last year’s black comedy movie The Phoenician Scheme, which was led by Benicio Del Toro, Mia Threapleton, and Michael Cera. At the moment, the acclaimed filmmaker is currently developing an untitled project which will reportedly take place in England. He is co-writing the “dark” movie with Roman Coppola and Richard Ayoade.
