Ansel Elgort Posts First Photo of Baby Boy, Calls Fatherhood Exhilarating

The Baby Driver actor Ansel Elgort recently posted a photo of his firstborn on Instagram, along with a heartwarming caption, reflecting on his experience as a father. He also said that he initially wanted to keep that part of his life private and “sacred,” but now he’s ready to share it with his fans.

On February 10, The Fault in Our Stars actor posted a black-and-white photo of himself holding his first child, a baby boy, close to his face, with a subtle smile. The post was accompanied by a sweet caption in which he wrote, “Fatherhood is exhilarating, exhausting, it’s everything and more.”

“The present feels more present and the future brighter,” the Baby Driver star continued in the caption. “He wakes us up all night, and yet I’ve never felt stronger during the day. He goes from crying to laughing, expressing everything he feels, and it’s freed me to do the same.”

“I wanted to keep it sacred, just for us, but now I want to share this story with you as it’s the brightest, happiest thing I’ve ever experienced. I hope it brings you happiness too. So much love. Ansel,” the Divergent actor concluded.

Earlier in the day, Ansel Elgort posted another video in which he played a guitar and sang to his son. However, the video didn’t show the baby’s face. The 31-year-old simply captioned it, “Goodmorning.”

While this was the first time the actor had shared photos of his son, he was reportedly seen carrying the baby in New York City earlier last month (via PEOPLE). Currently, there is no information available about the child’s mother’s identity.

Elgort has been in the industry for more than a decade. He made his debut in 2013’s Carrie, starring alongside Chloë Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore. The following year, he starred in Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars, both of which launched him to fame. His most recent appearance was in HBO’s Tokyo Vice as Jake Adelstein.
