‘I Was No. 12 on the Call Sheet’: Timothée Chalamet Reveals Favorite Movie He’s Made
Timothée Chalamet has revealed his favorite movie of his career, and it’s not one in which he played a leading role.
What is Timothée Chalamet’s favorite movie of his career?
Chalamet is now one of Hollywood’s brightest stars. The 30-year-old is the youngest person to receive three Best Actor nominations since Marlon Brando in 1954. Chalamet has headlined franchise blockbusters and Academy Award darlings, but it’s his supporting role in a Christopher Nolan movie that he calls his “favorite project.”
During a recent screening at the American Cinematheque, Chalamet and Nolan spoke about Interstellar, the latter’s 2014 sci-fi movie about a group of astronauts searching for a new home. In Interstellar, Chalamet plays Tom, the son of Matthew McConaughey‘s Cooper. Despite having only a few scenes, Chalamet explains the significant impact the role played in his career.
“Though my role is not enormous in Interstellar, I think I was number 12 on the call sheet. This film came to me at a time in life, in career, or things were certainly not set yet. And it’s remained my favorite project I’ve ever been in,” Chalamet said (via @nolanarchive). “It’s the film I’ve seen the most of, of all the films ever made in human history. And I’m just tremendously grateful to have been a part of this project, and if now is an abundance of good stuff in my life, this came as a little emerald. It came at a time where I really needed it.”
Interstellar is viewed as Nolan’s most personal project, with the main theme revolving around a father’s fight to return home to his daughter. Nominated for five Academy Awards, Interstellar won Best Visual Effects.
Speaking of the Academy Awards, Chalamet is the favorite to win Best Actor for his work in Marty Supreme. Chalamet would become the second-youngest actor to win in this category, behind Adrien Brody, who was 29 when he took home the prize for The Pianist.
As for Nolan, his next movie is The Odyssey, in theaters on July 17, 2026.
