Emily Bader, who starred in the hit romantic comedy People We Meet on Vacation, recently suggested an idea for a spin-off. While speaking to ScreenRant, Bader stated a spin-off can happen with Sarah Catherine Hook’s Sarah and Lucien Laviscount’s Trey.

She told the outlet, “I think there should be a spin-off with Sarah and Lucien’s character, who I can’t remember his name. And then I will cameo in that.” The interviewer also asked Bader if there would be another Emily Henry adaptation that she would like to do, but she responded, “I don’t think I can. The universes are linked.”

People We Meet on Vacation became the number one English-language film on Netflix upon its debut on January 9, 2026. It reportedly generated approximately 17 million views in its opening weekend. On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie got a score of 76 percent on the Tomatometer based on critic reviews. On the Popcornmeter, the movie got 71 percent based on audience reviews.

The description of the movie on Netflix states that it revolves around the character of Poppy, played by Emily Bader, who is described as “a free spirit.” On the other hand, Alex, played by Tom Blyth, “loves a plan.” It further reads, “After years of summer vacations, these polar-opposite pals wonder if they could be a perfect romantic match.”

Following the release of the movie, director Brett Haley told Netflix, “It was very important to me that Emily felt like we were doing her book justice. We tried to be true to the essence of the characters’ journeys, who they are, and tell the story she told.”
