Eddie Murphy & Eva Longoria Are Held Hostage in New Comedy Movie

After starring in last year’s action comedy movie The Pickup, Academy Award nominee Eddie Murphy and Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria have officially found their next project with Amazon MGM Studios. Murphy and Longoria are once again set to play a married couple in the upcoming comedy, Attachment Parenting.

What do we know about Eddie Murphy & Eva Longoria’s Attachment Parenting movie?

Per THR, Attachment Parenting will be based on Julianna Baggott’s short story. The project is now in the early stages of development, with no writer or director enlisted yet. In addition to leading the cast, Murphy and Longoria are also serving as producers, along with John Davis of Davis Entertainment, Charisse Hewitt-Webster for Eddie Murphy Productions, Jade Miranda, and Cris Abrego for Longoria’s Hyphenate banner. David also worked with Murphy in Netflix’s 2025 documentary movie Being Eddie.

“The movie tells of a psychologist couple whose parenting philosophy is put to the ultimate test when they’re forced to counsel a crime boss’s dysfunctional family while being held hostage at a hotel,” reads the initial synopsis.

This marks the Shrek alum’s latest collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, after previously working together in Coming 2 America and Candy Cane Lane. He is set to reprise his iconic role as Donkey in the highly anticipated animated movie Shrek 5. Besides The Pickup, Longoria also starred in Prime Video’s holiday comedy Oh. What. Fun last December. She will next be seen playing the Ghost of Christmas Past in the musical comedy Christmas Karma, which will be led by Kunal Nayyar.
