Song Sung Blue Streaming Release Date Set for Hugh Jackman & Kate Hudson Movie

Universal and Focus Features have announced the Song Sung Blue streaming release date, setting when the Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson-led Oscar-nominated movie will come out at home.

When is Song Sung Blue’s streaming release date?

The 2025 movie, which is based on the award-winning 2008 documentary, will release on Peacock on February 16, 2026. The film has been a massive success since its release, with Kate Hudson also earning tons of award nominations for her role as Claire Sardina, including a Best Actress Academy Award nomination.

The film is written and directed by Craig Brewer and based on the 2008 documentary film of the same name. The movie follows the story of real life musicians Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed together under the name Lightning & Thunder, acting as a Neil Diamond tribute band.

“Mike (Hugh Jackman) and Claire (Kate Hudson) are two down-on-their-luck musicians who prove that it’s never too late to find love and follow your dreams,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “They form a joyous Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning and Thunder, rising from a humble garage to dive bar gigs to unexpected hometown stardom. When tragedy strikes, their love for each other and passion for music give them the strength to overcome hardships, rediscover hope, and inspire everyone around them.”

Alongside Jackman and Hudson, Song Sung Blue also stars Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, Hudson Hensley, Fisher Stevens, and Jim Belushi. Song Sung Blue is written and directed by Craig Brewer.

John Davis, John Fox, and Brewer serve as producers for the movie. Ericka Hampson and Greg Kohs are attached as executive producers on the project. Song Sung Blue is based on the 2008 documentary of the same name by Kohs.
