Project Hail Mary Final Trailer Readies Ryan Gosling Fans for Unique Sci-Fi Movie

The final trailer for Project Hail Mary has been released.

Project Hail Mary is a new sci-fi adventure movie that will be released in United States theaters next month. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the film stars Ryan Gosling as the character Dr. Ryland Grace.

What happens in the Project Hail Mary final trailer?

The final Project Hail Mary previews a unique sci-fi movie that sees Gosling stuck in space with no memory of how he got there. He must then work with an alien creature on a mission that could save Earth from complete destruction.

The official synopsis reads, “Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.”

In addition to Gosling, the cast of the movie includes Sandra Hüller as Eva Strait, Lionel Boyce as Office Steve Hatch, Ken Leung as Yáo Li-Jie, and Milana Vayntrub as Olesya Ilyukhina.

Lord and Miller are known for their own on the Spider-Verse franchise, while the two of them have also directed movies such as 2009’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 2012’s 21 Jump Street, 2014’s The Lego Movie, and 2014’s 22 Jump Street. They’ve also been involved as producers on 2017’s Brigsby Bear, 2017’s The Lego Batman Movie, 2021’s The Mitchells vs. the Machines, 2023’s Cocaine Bear, and more.

Project Hail Mary arrives on March 20, 2026, from Amazon MGM Studios.
