Norman Reedus, Milly Alcock, and several other actors have joined onto the upcoming horror movie from legendary Japanese director Takashi Miike starring Charli XCX.
What movie has Norman Reedus, Milly Alcock and more joined?
According to a new report from Deadline, Reedus, Alcock, actress-model-singer Kiko Mizuhara, and Show Kasamatsu will all be joining the cast of Miike’s upcoming, untitled slasher-horror. The movie is currently known as Untitled Kyoto, and is said to start filming in Japan next month.
Little is known about the movie as of now, but Deadline notes the film will follow “three best friends who meet up in Kyoto to rekindle their lifelong friendships. What is intended to be a carefree girls trip devolves into a nightmare, unfolding when Katie (Charli xcx) becomes possessed by a violent, tortured spirit (Mizuhara) in the Japanese horror tradition.”
Reedus is best known for a number of projects, including his role as Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead franchise, his roles in The Boondock Saints movies, and more. Alcock rose to stardom for her performance as a younger Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO’s House of the Dragon, and is also the DCU’s Supergirl, and will star in the upcoming solo movie.
For XCX, this continues to expand her dive into the world of acting in a major way. The superstar recently starred in A24’s The Moment, a movie about her own life. She’ll also star in the upcoming thriller I Want Your Sex alongside Olivia Wilde, the Faces of Death remake, and more.
Takashi Miike is a legendary director in the world of Japan. He’s best known for his work in the horror genre, including films like 1999’s Audition, 2001’s Ichi the Killer, and more. Alongside this movie, he’s also working on Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, a film set in the Bad Lieutenant series and that will star Shun Oguri, Lily James, and WWE star Liv Morgan.
