Kate Hudson & Oscar Winner to Star in Rom-Com Like When Harry Met Sally
Kate Hudson is nominated for an Academy Award this year, and a new report reveals she’ll pair up with another Oscar winner for an upcoming romantic-comedy Hello & Paris.
Who else is starring in Hello & Paris?
According to a new report from Deadline, Hudson and Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Dune) will team up to star in the movie, which is said to be loosely inspired by the Deborah McKinlay novel That Part Was True.
The movie will be written and directed by Elizabeth Chomko (What They Had), and is described as “in the vein of Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and You’ve Got Mail.” The movie follows the story of Paris, “a fiercely independent landscape architect and a crisis-ridden bestselling novelist,” who begins “a sparky, transatlantic exchange over books and recipes—only to discover that the one thing harder than being alone might be choosing not to be.”
Hello & Paris will be produced by two-time Best Picture nominee Finola Dwyer, alongside Fifth Season. Sales for the film are said to be discussed at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.
For Hudson, this is her first project since 2025’s Song Sung Blue, for which she was just nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress. She starred in the movie alongside Hugh Jackman, and played the role of Claire Sardina, a.k.a. “Thunder,” half of a Neil Diamond tribute band.
Bardem is best known for his high-profile roles in movies like No Country for Old Men, Skyfall, and the Dune franchise. He most recently starred in 2025’s action racing movie F1, and will next star in 2026’s drama film The Beloved, as well as the upcoming psychological thriller Bunker.
