Chris Pratt’s upcoming Apple TV film has released its first official images and announced a global premiere set for later this year. The project, based on a bestselling novel, features a cast that includes Linda Cardellini and Jude Hill.

Way of the Warrior Kid arrives on Apple TV later this year

Apple Original Films will premiere Way of the Warrior Kid globally on Apple TV on November 20, 2026. Director McG leads the film, which stars Chris Pratt, Linda Cardellini, and Jude Hill. The story adapts the bestselling novel Way of the Warrior Kid: From Wimpy to Warrior the Navy SEAL Way by former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink.

The story follows Marc, a middle schooler played by Jude Hill, who struggles with bullying and feels behind in academics, gym, and friendships. When his injured uncle Jake, a decorated Navy SEAL played by Chris Pratt, comes to stay for the summer, Jake launches “Operation Warrior Kid,” a SEAL-inspired program to help Marc build confidence and resilience.

Linda Cardellini plays Marc’s mother, Sarah. Ava Torres, Levi McConaughey, Darien Sills-Evans, Carl McDowell, and Parker Young round out the cast. Will Staples, known for Without Remorse and The Right Stuff, wrote the screenplay.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger lead the production for Skydance. McG and Mary Viola produce under Wonderland Sound. Chris Pratt produces through Indivisible Productions, while Ben Everard represents Everard Entertainment. Bruce Wayne Gillies and Jocko Willink also produce. Will Staples, Steven Bello, and Cliff Lanning serve as executive producers.

Apple revealed Way of the Warrior Kid during the 2026 Apple TV Press Day. Pratt, Cardellini, Hill, and Willink appeared at the event to present the first official look. The film expands Apple TV’s catalog of original content available on over 1 billion screens across more than 100 countries.

Apple TV charges $12.99 per month and provides a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. Customers who activate a new Apple device receive three months free.
