Hulk Star Mark Ruffalo Addresses Disney & Marvel Firing Rumors

Hulk star Mark Ruffalo has not been fired by Disney and Marvel, despite online rumors suggesting that he has.

Ruffalo is known for playing Bruce Banner/Hulk in the MCU. He’ll soon be reprising that role in Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which arrives in United States theaters this summer. Ruffalo will also soon be seen starring alongside Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry in Crime 101, a new thriller that arrives in the United States next month.

What did Mark Ruffalo say about Marvel?

Rumors began circulating online last week that Ruffalo, who has often been outspoken about his politics and his criticisms of the Trump administration, had been fired by Disney. This, however, is untrue, as Ruffalo was asked about the matter when speaking to The News Movement for Crime 101.

“Not that I know of,” Ruffalo said with a laugh when asked if the rumor was true. “People keep going, like, ‘Did you get fired?’ I’m like, not that I know of…Yeah, I’ll be there as long as they have me. But I have a good relationship with them. Who knows, there might be things I’m already doing. I’m around, let me just say that.”

“It’s nonsense,” Hemsworth added. “That’s a nonsense thing.”

Berry agreed, “We would protest.”

Crime 101 is scheduled to be released on February 13, 2026, by Amazon MGM Studios. Directed by Bart Layton and based on the 2020 novella of the same name by Don Winslow, the movie also stars Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte.

Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 4, meanwhile, is currently dated for July 31, 2026. Tom Holland is once again reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in that movie, while the supporting cast also includes Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, and more.
