Frozen 3 Star Shares Major Update on Highly-Anticipated Sequel
As animated films continue to dominate the screens, from Zootopia to K-Pop Demon Hunters, Frozen 3 has quietly stepped back into the spotlight. This time, the buzz comes straight from Josh Gad, whose latest social media post strongly suggests that Disney’s beloved franchise is officially back in motion.
Josh Gad shares production update on Frozen 3
Josh Gad, the voice behind Olaf, shared a telling update that points to progress on Frozen 3. On Instagram, the actor posted a photo holding an Olaf plushie in one hand while flashing a “3” with the other. The caption read, “3rd time is always the charm. Time to build another snowman. #frozen3.”
The post appears to indicate that Gad has begun voice recording for the upcoming sequel, so it seems to be one of the clearest signs yet that Frozen 3 is entering active production. For longtime fans, this is the most concrete update since Disney confirmed new installments were in development.
This Frozen 3 update comes after Gad previously told Collider that he had not yet started recording and had not heard any new songs. However, he did express immense confidence in the project. “I was lucky enough to get sort of a preview of what the movie is, and it’s going to be worth the wait,” Gad quipped.
“It’s pretty extraordinary what they’re doing… To Jennifer Lee’s credit, she really took that note and gave herself that note and has created something that’s going to be worth the wait.” He also addressed Disney’s unprecedented two-film plan, confirming that “the story that I’ve been kind of previewed is the grandest story we’ve ever done, so I anticipate it’s going to be a little too much for one movie.”
Gad even teased a potential cliffhanger, saying, “Well, when people see Olaf get assassinated, I think it’s going to raise a lot of questions that are going to have to be answered.” With a scheduled release date of November 24, 2027, Frozen 3 is still some time away from answering this.
