BTS Sets Netflix Release Dates for Live Comeback Concert Special & Return Doc
BTS set the stage for a major return with two upcoming Netflix premieres tied to their long-awaited comeback. The global superstars revealed release dates for a live concert special and a documentary film, both arriving soon.
BTS Live comeback concert and return documentary get Netflix premiere dates
BTS will perform a live comeback concert titled BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG on March 21 at 8 PM KST / 4 AM PST, streaming globally and exclusively on Netflix. They will take the stage at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, marking the first-ever live event from Korea to stream worldwide on Netflix.
Following the concert, the documentary film BTS: THE RETURN will premiere on March 27, also exclusively on Netflix. The film explores the making of BTS’s comeback album, titled ARIRANG, and documents the group’s reunion process after completing solo projects and mandatory military service.
Hamish Hamilton directs the concert special, with Hybe, Bighit Music, Guy Carrington, Garrett English, and Kevin Hermanson producing it. Done + Dusted serves as the production company. The concert marks BTS’s official return as a full group ahead of their planned global tour.
Bao Nguyen, known for The Greatest Night in Pop, directs the documentary. It features BTS as they reflect on their journey and transformation into global icons. The film captures their reunion behind the scenes after their 2022 hiatus. It also explores the challenges and emotions they face as they restart as a group.
The release of the concert and documentary leads into BTS’s 2026–2027 global tour. This will be their first tour since 2022. It begins on April 9 with performances in Goyang, South Korea. The group will then perform in Japan, North America, Europe, the UK, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.
BTS members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook debuted in 2013. They went on hiatus in June 2022 for military service. All members completed service by mid-2025. They reunited in Los Angeles to begin work on ARIRANG.
