Beatles Movies First Look Shows Off Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn & More As Iconic Band

The upcoming four-part Beatles film series has officially received its first look, showing off the quartet of Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan, and Harris Dickinson as the iconic musicians.

In a surprise move, The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts took to social media this week to reveal it had exclusive postcards of the upcoming set of four movies. Students and fans were tasked with finding them on campus and subsequently revealed the first look at the four stars.

The images don’t feature much, but do show the four in full costume for the upcoming movies. Paul Mescal’s Paul McCartney can be seen, as can Barry Keoghan’s Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn’s George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson’s John Lennon. Check out the first look below:

What do we know about the upcoming Beatles movies?

Dubbed The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event, the upcoming set of movies will consist of an individual movie about each member of the band, all directed by Sam Mendes. All four films will release on April 7, 2028, and each will be told from the perspective of the specific band member.

Alongside the four, the movies will also star Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as Brian Epstein, Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, Harry Lloyd as George Martin, David Morrissey as Jim McCartney, Leanne Best as Mimi Smith, Bobby Schofiled as Neil Aspinall, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Mal Evens, Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor, and Adam Pally as Allen Klein.

While it’s unclear how the movies will be presented, reports have suggested that each movie will tell the story of the bands history sequentially, meaning each movie will cover a different period of time in the band’s eventual rise to one of the most famous acts in history.

Mendes — known for directing 1999’s American Beauty, 2012’s Skyfall, 2019’s 1917, and more — is producing the films alongside Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor, while Jeff Jones serves as an executive producer. Filming is expected to begin in 2025 in the United Kingdom, while all four movies will be released in 2027.
