Brendan Fraser & Andrew Scott’s World War II Movie Pressure Sets Release Date
Focus Features, Working Title, and Studiocanal have announced the release date for Pressure, the upcoming World War II movie about the intense events that happened before D-Day. Based on David Haig’s acclaimed 2014 stage play of the same name, the film will be led by Academy Award winner Brendan Fraser as General Eisenhower and Emmy nominee Andrew Scott as Captain James Stagg.
“In the tense 72 hours before D-Day, and the fate of the free world hanging in the balance, Pressure follows General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Captain James Stagg as they face an impossible choice—launch the largest and most dangerous invasion in history or risk losing the war altogether,” reads the official synopsis.
When is the release date for Brendan Fraser & Andrew Scott’s Pressure movie?
The film adaptation of Pressure has now been scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 29, 2026. This comes ahead of the annual D-Day day of remembrance on June 6. D-Day was a pivotal moment in World War II, when the Allied Forces finally launched an invasion in Normandy, France.
The movie is directed by Anthony Maras, who co-wrote the screenplay with Haig. The star-studded cast also includes Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin) as Kay Summersby, Chris Messina (The Mindy Project) as Irving P. Krick, Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers) as Bernard Montgomery, Con O’Neill (Chernobyl) as Trafford Leigh-Mallory, Daniel Quinn-Toye (Voltron) as Michael Gregory, and more. It is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Lucas Webb for Working Title, with Cass Marks and Studiocanal’s Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern, and Joe Naftalin serving as executive producers.
Fraser recently starred in the Japan-set comedy-drama movie Rental Family, which received an approval rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Besides Pressure, he will also next be seen in the crime drama movie Diamond from actor-director Andy Garcia. Fraser is also expected to reprise his iconic role as Rick O’Connell in a new The Mummy movie, which is now in development. As for Scott, he recently appeared in Netflix’s latest Benoit Blanc movie, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. He is currently attached to star alongside Michelle Williams in the A Place in Hell movie.
