Kiss of the Spider Woman begins streaming on Hulu in February
Kiss of the Spider Woman will begin streaming on Hulu in the United States on February 27, 2026.
The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. It opened in theaters on October 10, 2025, following several early critical reactions. The digital release followed on November 11, 2025. Purchase and rental prices were set at $7.99 and $5.99 across major platforms.
This remake updates a 41-year-old thriller. It draws from Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel and the 1993 Broadway musical by Terrence McNally, with music by John Kander and Fred Ebb. The story centers on Luis Molina (Tonatiuh), who is imprisoned for public indecency.
He shares a cell with political prisoner Valentín Arregui (Diego Luna). Molina finds comfort by recounting the plot of a film starring his favorite diva, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez). His storytelling helps both men escape their grim surroundings.
Director and co-writer Bill Condon led the 2025 adaptation. Jennifer Lopez, Diego Luna, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and others produced the film. It runs for 128 minutes. Despite early critical buzz and speculation about Lopez’s awards potential after Sundance, the film earned only $1.7 million globally, with $1.6 million from the domestic box office. Its reported budget was $30 million.
The film received a 77% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a “Certified Fresh” rating. It holds a 67% audience score, also rated as Fresh. The film will be available for streaming on Hulu starting February 27, 2026. Viewer interest may increase due to Diego Luna’s recent success in Andor Season 2, which drew strong critical acclaim and expanded his fanbase across platforms.
