New Henry Cavill & Guy Ritchie Movie Finally Sets Release Date After Delay

Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavill’s upcoming action film has officially secured a new release date following a delay and distribution change. Its rollout remained unclear after quietly disappearing from Lionsgate’s calendar, but recent updates have confirmed when it will hit theaters.

Black Bear announces release date for In the Grey

Black Bear announced it will release Guy Ritchie’s action film In the Grey in theaters on April 10, 2026. Lionsgate had originally scheduled the film for a January 17, 2025 release before removing it from its calendar.

After launching its U.S. distribution operation, Black Bear acquired the film’s domestic distribution rights. Lionsgate will continue to manage the film’s digital and pay-TV distribution. “We are thankful to our partners at Lionsgate, whose flexibility and collaboration have been instrumental in bringing this together,” said Benjamin Kramer, President of U.S. Distribution for Black Bear.

In the Grey stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Kristofer Hivju, Fisher Stevens, and Rosamund Pike. Guy Ritchie wrote and directed the film. It follows a covert team of elite operatives who operate in the shadows, using influence, firepower, and explosives.

The story centers on the team’s mission to recover a billion-dollar fortune stolen by a ruthless despot. What begins as a high-stakes heist escalates into a global conflict involving deception and survival. “In the Grey features every ounce of his [Ritchie’s] trademark style and wit, not to mention a hugely talented cast led by Jake, Henry, and Eiza,” Kramer added (via The Hollywood Reporter).

The film is produced by Guy Ritchie and Ivan Atkinson for Toff Guy, John Friedberg for Black Bear, and Dave Caplan for C2. In the Grey will open on April 10, 2026. It will debut alongside The Christophers from Neon and You, Me & Tuscany from Universal, which stars Halle Bailey and Rege-Jean Page. Two untitled releases from Shudder Films and Gkids will also premiere that day.

In the Grey is part of Black Bear’s 2026 slate. The lineup also includes Shelter, an action thriller starring Jason Statham and directed by Ric Roman Waugh. Shelter is scheduled to release on January 30, 2026.
