2 New Halle Berry Movies, Plus HBO, Peacock, & FX Shows Revealed

Academy Award winner Halle Berry is currently attached to star in multiple movies and TV shows, which she will also be executive producing alongside Holly Jeter under their HalleHolly production company.

This comes more than a year after she led the cast of Alexandre Aja’s survival horror movie Never Let Go. On February 13, Berry will be seen starring opposite Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in the upcoming movie Crime 101.

What are Halle Berry’s next movies and TV shows?

Per Deadline, Berry has teamed up with multiple creative collaborators for her upcoming project slate, consisting of 7 movies and three TV shows. The X-Men star’s next movies include: Apple Original Films’ adaptation of The President is Missing, based on 2018’s best-selling political thriller novel written by Bill Clinton and James Patterson; and action comedy Bad Cop, Bad Cop, with Kay Cannon attached to direct.

On the television side, Berry has signed on for the leading role in Peacock’s menopause-themed comedy series, titled Zero F***s, which hails from writers Liz Kruger and Carolyn Townsend. She’s also attached to lead HBO’s horror drama series The Patient from Laeta Kalogridis, and FX’s revenge drama show Mother Doom from Matthew Sand. The latter is still currently finalizing the project’s development deal at the network.

Listed below are the full descriptions for Berry’s upcoming project slate:

  • The President Is Missing movie is being written by Nicole Perlman and David Chasteen. It will feature Berry playing President Joanna Duncan, who must try to escape the Secret Service and the White House for the sake of saving the world against a terrorist’s lethal attack. It is produced by HalleHolly, RK Films’ Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum, President Clinton, and Patterson via James Patterson Entertainment, with Bill Robinson and RK Films’ Zack Roth executive producing.
  • The Bad Cop, Bad Cop movie will be directed by Cannon from a screenplay written by Fortune Feimster & James Lee Freeman & Brian Jarvis (Ricky Stanicky), with revisions made by Jillian Bell and Feimster. It follows two inept beat cops, Molly and Devon, who get taken under the wing of a badass female detective, who brings them on the ride-along of their lives.
  • The Boy Who Knew Too Much movie is being written by Molly McAlpine, who is also producing alongside HalleHolly. It is based on Cathy Byrd’s 2017 memoir about her son, Christian Haupt. The story explores the mystery of reincarnation and the connection between past lives and the present.
  • The Sunburn movie is being written by Michelle Dean, with Liz Garbus attached to direct. Based on Laura Lippman’s 2018 novel, Berry will star in a neo-noir psychological thriller about a complicated woman who’s scheming towards freedom — from her past crimes, her present loves, her secrets, and all the masks she’s worn along the way.
  • Family Swap is a body-swapping comedy movie, inspired by Gaumont’s 2021 French film Le Sens de la famille. It will be directed by Jason Moore with Ben Wexler writing the script. The story follows a discouraged father, a disconnected mother, 2 moody teenagers, and a tempestuous little one.
  • The Parole Officer movie is written by Michael McGrale. The story follows a parolee looking to stay on the straight and narrow, who is seduced by a mysterious woman into a drug-fueled one-night stand, violating the rules of his parole. The woman (Berry) turns out to be his newly appointed parole officer, who unleashes a plan to blackmail him into committing an escalating series of crimes or else he’ll be sent back to prison for the rest of his life.
  • Peacock’s Zero F***s series is described as “a comedy about embracing your second act when you finally stop giving a f**k.” The story will center around three menopausal best friends — one of them played by Berry — dealing with midlife BS who are forced to solve the murder of a friend they couldn’t stand. Executive producers are Berry, Jeter, Kruger, Townsend, Heather Kadin, Craig Shapiro, Barry Jossen, and Tana Jamieson.
  • HBO’s The Patient will be based on Jasper DeWitt’s novella of the same name. It follows an ambitious young psychiatrist, Parker, who attempts to make a name for himself by treating Josephine Todd (Berry), the famously incurable patient at his hospital. The psychological horror series is executive-produced by Berry, Jeter, showrunner Laeta Kalogridis, Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, and Vertigo Entertainment.
  • FX’s Mother Doom is executive-produced by Jeter, Sand, Nicole Tossou, and Project X. When her son is killed in the line of duty, she goes back into her past to find his murderer and get revenge.
