Sydney Sweeney’s Hollywood Sign Bra Stunt Could Get Her in Legal Trouble
In a move that could end up getting her in some legal trouble, Sydney Sweeney recently went up to Los Angeles’ Hollywood sign for a stunt involving her bra.
What do we know about Sydney Sweeney’s Hollywood sign stunt?
Recently, videos surfaced of Sweeney climbing up to the Hollywood sign with a production team in the dead of night. In the video, Sweeney and her team can be seen climbing up the sign and lacing the entire thing in bras. It is believed to be a promotion for her new lingerie line.
However, the move could end up seeing Sweeney get in some trouble with those who own the sign. According to TMZ, while Sweeney got a permit from FilmaLA to record by the sign, she did not have permission to touch or climb the sign, nor hang anything from it as she ended up doing.
TMZ’s report includes an email from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which owns the sign, reaching out and making it known that they weren’t made aware of the filming. “It has come to our attention that you and crew filmed the Hollywood Sign last night for a production connected with Persuasion Pictures,” reads the email.
“Please be advised that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce owns the intellectual property rights to use of the image of the Hollywood Sign and neither you nor the production company have sought or received permission to use the images captured for any commercial use. We understand that you received a film permit from FilmLA, whose staff assures me that you were notified of the requirements to seek a license from the Chamber prior to your shoot.”
The email also asks Sweeney’s team to reach out to “work to reach an agreement” on their use of the video. In a statement to TMZ, the chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said that “there was no permission granted to do this,” and while the situation could escalate to legal trouble should they choose to do so, it’s unclear what the outcome of this will be.
