Travis Scott’s Surprising The Odyssey Role Revealed in Christopher Nolan Movie’s New Video

Travis Scott made a surprising appearance in the latest promo for the Christopher Nolan epic, The Odyssey.

What happens in the new TV spot for The Odyssey?

On Sunday, Universal Pictures ran a new teaser for The Odyssey during the NFL broadcast of the AFC championship game between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos.

During the minute-long video, Holland’s Telemachus asks Jon Bernthal’s Menelaus what he knows about his father, Odysseus, played by Matt Damon. Scott’s unnamed character stands on a table and speaks about the legend of Odysseus inside the mess hall.

“A war, a man, a trick. A trick to break the walls of Troy,” Scott’s character says. “It burning, screaming to the ground.” As Scott’s character speaks, the video cuts to Odysseus and his men infiltrating Troy inside the Trojan horse.

“Let’s go home,” Odysseus says at the end of the footage.

Scott and Nolan previously collaborated on Tenet, with the rapper providing the theme song, “The Plan,” for the sci-fi movie. The Odyssey marks Scott’s biggest acting role to date. Scott’s last role was in Aggro Dr1ft, an experimental action film directed by Harmony Korine.

The Odyssey is based on Homer’s famous poem, which depicts Odysseus’ treacherous journey home after the Trojan War. On his voyage, Odysseus will encounter mythical creatures, including sirens and a cyclops.

The Odyssey also stars Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, Zendaya as Athena, Benny Safdie as Agamemnon, John Leguizamo as Eumaeus, Himesh Patel as Eurylochus, Mia Goth as Melantho, Charlize Theron as Circe, and Lupita Nyong’o in an undisclosed role.

Nolan writes and directs The Odyssey, his first movie since the Oscar-winning epic Oppenheimer. Nolan produces alongside Emma Thomas, his wife and producing partner. Frequent Nolan collaborators Hoyte van Hoytema and Ludwig Göransson return to handle the cinematography and score, respectively.

Universal will release The Odyssey in theaters and in IMAX on July 17, 2026.
