Jason Momoa’s Lobo Gets Best Look Yet in New Supergirl Video
After fans caught a glimpse of him in the first Supergirl trailer, Jason Momoa‘s Lobo took center stage in a new video shared by James Gunn for the DC Universe movie.
What does the new Supergirl video show?
In a video shared on Gunn’s social media accounts, Momoa is shown exiting his trailer, cigar in mouth, and heading towards a car. The person behind the camera asks him, “Do you have comments about playing Lobo?” As Momoa steps into the car, he takes the cigar out of his mouth and simply states, “Finally,” before laughing.
The video then cuts to new footage of Momoa as Lobo in Supergirl, with the anti-hero riding up on his iconic motorcycle. The footage offers DCU fans their best look yet at Momoa’s Lobo, as well as the sort of setting that they can expect to see him in during the movie.

It’s no secret that Lobo is a dream role for Momoa. The actor has been quite vocal in the past about wanting to play the character, having revealed that he was shocked Zack Snyder wanted him to play Aquaman in Batman v Superman and not Lobo.
Momoa was cast as Lobo in December 2024. He will make his debut as the character in Supergirl. He will be only the second actor to portray Lobo in live-action, after Emmett J. Scanlan played the interstellar mercenary from the utopian planet of Czarnia in the short-lived DC series Krypton.
It’s unclear at this time if Momoa’s appearance in Supergirl is meant to set up a possible Lobo solo movie. However, if it is, director David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Bullet Train) has already made it clear that he wants to be involved in such a project.
“It’s a story we were born to tell. This character is all you,” Leitch wrote in January 2025 under one of Momoa’s Instagram posts.
Supergirl is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, as the second film of the DCU.
