Oscar-Winning Spider-Man Movie Returns to Theaters Soon

The theatrical rerelease date for one of Sony Pictures’ beloved Spider-Man movies has been revealed ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s long-awaited debut on July 31, 2026. During its initial theatrical run in 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was not only a box office hit, but was also recognized by many award-giving bodies. The movie received the Best Animated Feature award at the 2019 Academy Awards.

“Bitten by a radioactive spider in the subway, Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales suddenly develops mysterious powers that transform him into the one and only Spider-Man. When he meets Peter Parker, he soon realizes that many others share his special, high-flying talents. Miles must now use his newfound skills to battle the evil Kingpin, a hulking madman who can open portals to other universes and pull different versions of Spider-Man into our world,” reads the synopsis.

When will Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse be rereleased in theaters?

According to AMC Theaters, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is officially returning to theaters on February 6, 2026. Since its debut, the movie has maintained its Certified Fresh score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 399 reviews. It has earned a worldwide gross of around $394 million at the box office.

The 2018 movie was directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, with Christopher Miller and Phil Lord serving as producers. Following the 2023 release of its sequel Across the Spider-Verse, production on the franchise’s long-awaited third installment, Beyond the Spider-Verse, is still ongoing. Last December 2024, it was confirmed that Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson have taken over the project’s directing duties after enduring multiple creative setbacks. Currently, the movie is still scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 18, 2027.
