2026 Oscars Nominations Revealed, Sinners Makes Academy Awards History
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has finally unveiled the list of the 2026 Oscars nominations for its upcoming 98th Academy Awards ceremony. The live announcement was hosted by Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple) and Emmy Award nominee Lewis Pullman (Lessons in Chemistry).
Ryan Coogler’s acclaimed horror drama Sinners has officially made history by becoming the only movie in history to ever receive 16 Oscar nominations. These include Best Picture, Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Supporting Actor for Delroy Lindo, Best Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku, and Best Director and Original Screenplay for Coogler. Before Sinners, the record for most Oscar nominations was previously held by 1950’s All About Eve, 1997’s Titanic, and 2016’s La La Land, which each received 14 nominations.
