New Horror Movie Noseeums Trailer Is ‘Get Out Meets Candyman’ | Exclusive

ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for Noseeums, the upcoming Southern Gothic horror movie from director Raven DeShay Carter. Described as “Get Out meets Candyman,” the film had its world premiere at Frightfest 2025 in London.

“Fresh from her toxic relationship, a curious college student, Ember, reluctantly agrees to a weekend trip with her roommate and wealthy white ‘friends’ to a secluded lake house in the Florida backwoods,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “Once she arrives at this unsettling land, it becomes familiar as she unearths troubled spirits that owned it and seeks to reclaim it.”

When is the release date for Noseeums?

After acquiring its North American rights last October 2025, Quiver Distribution will finally be releasing Noseeums next month. It will be available to rent or own on digital and VOD platforms starting on February 27, 2026. Also scheduled next month is the movie’s Los Angeles premiere at the Pan African Film Festival.

The movie serves as the feature directorial debut of Raven DeShay Carter, with Jason-Michael Anthony and Hendreck Joseph writing the screenplay. The cast includes Aleigha Burt as Ember, Tabitha Getsy as Abigay, Trisha Arozqueta as Tilly, Jasmine Nguyen as Tessa, and Jessie Roddy as Lexi. Executive producers are Reb Braddock, Paul Cohen, and Vicky Meyer, with Lisette Estrella Delgado set as the producer. The creative team consists of director of photography Christopher Lee Fatt, composer Justine de Saint Mars, production designer Ezekiel Marquina Joiner, and costume designer Diego Rocha.
