Jenna Ortega & Glen Powell’s J.J. Abrams Movie Gets Release Date, Cast Info

Warner Bros. Pictures has finally announced the release date for The Great Beyond, the upcoming action-adventure movie led by Golden Globe nominees Jenna Ortega and Glen Powell. This comes over a year after the J.J. Abrams-directed project was first announced.

When is the release date for Jenna Ortega & Glenn Powell’s The Great Beyond movie?

The Great Beyond has now been scheduled to arrive in IMAX theaters on November 13, 2026. In addition, the studio has also finally confirmed the actors who will be joining the movie’s main cast. Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Barbie), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda), and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie) are officially starring opposite Ortega and Powell. Further details about their characters are still under wraps, but previous reports suggested that the story might be about “a young married couple struggling to survive against a supernatural entity.”

The movie will be written and directed by Abrams, who is also serving as a producer through his Bad Robot production banner. This would be Abrams’ first directorial movie in over six years since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It is also being produced by Tommy Gormley.

Besides starring in Abrams’ mystery movie, Ortega will also next be seen in Cathy Yan’s dark comedy The Gallerist with Natalie Portman and in Taika Waititi’s film adaptation of Klara and the Sun with Amy Adams. As for Powell, he will also be leading the upcoming black comedy thriller How to Make a Killing with Margaret Qualley, which will arrive in theaters on February 20.
