WB Hypes Up Tom Cruise’s Digger, Changes Title of Anne Hathaway’s Flowervale Street

Warner Bros. Pictures CEOs Pam Abdy and Mike DeLuca have finally opened up about Tom Cruise‘s Digger and Anne Hathaway’s Flowervale Street movies. These highly anticipated projects are both debuting later this year, with Flowervale Street arriving in theaters on August 14. As for Digger, the black comedy film is currently scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.

What did Warner Bros. executives say about Tom Cruise’s Digger & Anne Hathaway’s Flowervale Street?

During a recent interview with TheWrap, Abdy and DeLuca shared their excitement for Digger and Flowervale Street, revealing some new details about the upcoming star-studded movies. They confirmed that they’ve already seen a cut of Digger, teasing that Cruise has given an “extraordinary” performance.

“We’re really excited about Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s movie Digger. He’s next-level,” Abdy said. “He reinvents the wheel every time. That movie is stunning,” De Luca added.

Abdy promised that Digger will surprise everyone. “Nothing you’ve ever seen. That’s what’s so brilliant. This is the fourth time I’ve worked with him. He never repeats himself, and he’s constantly taking you into his mind and his vision and surprising you. And this movie does exactly that.”

Iñárritu is directing the movie from a screenplay he co-wrote with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolás Giacobone. This marks the acclaimed filmmaker’s next English-language feature after 2015’s The Revenant. Joining Cruise are Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sophie Wilde, Riz Ahmed, Emma D’Arcy, and more. The film is produced by Cruise and Iñárritu. The creative team consists of cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki and editor Conor O’Neill.

As for Flowervale Street, De Luca and Abdy also confirmed that the studio has decided to change the movie’s title, which they haven’t revealed yet.

De Luca added, “I’m really excited about this Twilight Zone kind of J.J. Abrams-produced movie that David Robert Mitchell, who’s usually an indie director, did.”

Mitchell is directing the upcoming sci-fi movie, which he also wrote. Hathaway is leading the cast, consisting of Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, Christian Convery, P.J. Byrne, and Chris Coy. The story will reportedly follow a family in the 80s who start to notice strange happenings in their neighborhood. The movie is produced by Abrams and Mitchell. It is a production by Bad Robot, Jackson Pictures, and Warner Bros. Pictures.
