Nicolas Cage & Justin Long Have a Deadly Standoff in New Action Movie

Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage has finally found his next action project in the form of the upcoming under-the-radar action thriller movie from director Ken Sanzel. According to Deadline, Cage, Justin Long (Barbarian), and Shelley Hennig (Ouija) have officially signed on to star in the upcoming movie Best Pancakes in the County, which has already started production in Arkansas.

What do we know about Nicolas Cage & Justin Long’s new action movie?

“The movie takes place over the course of one night at a small-town diner that becomes the epicenter of a deadly standoff involving rogue federal agents, a fast-talking con man with a dangerous past (Cage), and a waitress (Hennig) harboring secrets of her own. As loyalties blur and tensions erupt, survival depends on who can outthink – and outgun – everyone else. In this diner, the ‘best pancakes in the county’ turn out to be the least explosive thing on the menu.”

Best Pancakes in the County is being directed by Ken Sanzel (Kill Chain) from a screenplay he also wrote. The movie is produced by Raja Collins, Eduard Osipov of Beno Films, and Eric Brenner, along with Niko Fomenko and R. Wesley Sierk III of Caliwood Pictures. Executive producers are Fortitude International’s Nadine de Barros, Caliwood’s John D. Straley, Audra Gricius, Jina Panebianco, Lance Kawas, Ahmed S. Boomrod, and Eugene Pruss.

“We’re thrilled to reunite with the iconic Cage, guided by the visionary Ken Sanzel. This action-packed, fast-paced adventure with wit and intensity is set to captivate audiences worldwide,” the producing team said in a statement.

Cage was most recently seen in last year’s biblical horror film The Carpenter’s Son. He is currently attached to star in the upcoming sports biopic Madden with Christian Bale and Kathryn Hale. It will chronicle the life of NFL coach John Madden. As for Long, he starred in last year’s hit horror movie Weapons, which reunited him with Barbarian director Zach Cregger. He will next be seen in the comedy movie In Memoriam with Lily Gladstone and Sharon Stone, and in the romantic comedy You Deserve Each Other with Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy.
