MCU Copying Christopher Nolan Movie to Hype Avengers: Doomsday

A new Avengers: Doomsday video uses a Christopher Nolan idea to build hype for the next MCU movie.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will be released in United States theaters at the end of this year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.

Marvel has now released four Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers. The first teaser revealed that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is returning to the MCU, while the second focused on Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the third on a handful of X-Men characters. The fourth and most recent trailer, meanwhile, put the spotlight on Letitia Wright’s Black Panther and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing.

What is the new Avengers: Doomsday video?

Now, Marvel Entertainment has shared a new Avengers: Doomsday video on YouTube. The video is a Doomsday countdown clock, meaning it tells MCU fans exactly how much longer they have to wait until Doomsday arrives.

Nolan did the same thing with the first teaser trailer for 2023’s Oppenheimer, as that video also featured a countdown clock telling fans when the movie was released. The video streamed live on a continuous loop so that it was constantly being updated.

In addition to the aforementioned cast, Avengers: Doomsday stars Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Raven Darkhölme, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
