What happens in Lee Cronin’s The Mummy teaser trailer?
The trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the movie, but it does highlight someone photographing what looks to be a mummy inside a tomb. The trailer is also cut with various scenes showing a family and a girl, named Katie, before the trailer ends with the titular mummy awakening as something crawls out of her mouth.
Lee Cronin’s The Mummy will star Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, Verónica Falcón, May Calamawy, May Elghety, Natalie Grace, Shylo Molina, Billie Roy, and Hayat Kamille.
It’s important to note that this movie is not related in any way to Universal’s The Mummy franchise, despite early reports misconstruing the two. Cronin, who is best known for directing 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, told IGN that the upcoming movie is “a very different kind of mummy movie,” and that he views the film as a mix between two horror classics.
“It’s an insane mashup to suggest, but [this film is] almost one part Poltergeist and one part Seven, but put through my lens and the way that I like to entertain people,” teased Cronin.
