Avengers: Beloved MCU Star Confirms They Won’t Return in Doomsday
One MCU star has confirmed that they won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie arrives in United States theaters later this year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, follows in 2027.
Which MCU star will not be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday?
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Darcy Lewis star Kat Dennings confirmed that her MCU character will not be showing up in Avengers: Doomsday.
“Well, I’m in the universe. And, as you know, I can’t tell you anything, but I am not in it,” she said. “I mean, I am not in it. I’m telling you right now that I’m not in it. If I were in it, which I’m not, I couldn’t tell you, but I literally am not. I’m sure they already filmed it. I was here. I’m not in it.”
Dennings did mention that Marvel did “scan her” at one point, meaning they could digitally put her character into the film if they really wanted to; however, it seems unlikely that would happen.
This isn’t terribly surprising news, given that Darcy has never been in an Avengers movie and also that the cast of Doomsday is already so big. Having said that, Dennings has been in the MCU for quite some time, as her first appearance dates back to 2011’s Thor, where she had a supporting role. Darcy’s other MCU appearances include 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, 2021’s WandaVision, and 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, while she’s also been featured in a handful of What If…? episodes, including one where she marries Howard the Duck and then gives birth to his child.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars, meanwhile, is dated for December 17, 2027.
