Toy Story 5: New Look Brings Back 2 Characters to Pixar Franchise
A new look at Toy Story 5 brings back two characters to the beloved Pixar franchise.
Disney and Pixar will release Toy Story 5 in United States theaters this coming summer. The new Toy Story movie will once again see Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack reprise their respective vocal roles as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie.
What do we see in the new look at Toy Story 5?
Shared by USA Today, the new Toy Story 5 image offers the first look at Bonnie and Bonnie’s mom. At the end of Toy Story 3, Andy gives all his toys to Bonnie and then leaves for college. Woody notably decided to become a lost toy and not return to Bonnie at the end of Toy Story 4, leaving it unclear why he’s back in her bedroom in the new Toy Story 5 image.
What is also notable is that Bonnie and her mom are staring at an electronic device rather than giving any attention to the toys, as this is what the main plot of Toy Story 5 will revolve around. Greta Lee is voicing the high-tech gadget known as Lilypad, while the voice cast further includes Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, Tony Hale as Corky, and Conan O’Brien as a new character named Smarty Pants.

The synopsis for Toy Story 5 reads, “The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, and this time it’s Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they’re introduced to what kids are obsessed with today….electronics!”
Toy Story 5 is directed by Andrew Stanton, while Kenna Harris serves as co-director and Lindsey Collins as producer.
Toy Story 5 arrives on June 19, 2026. The first four Toy Story movies, meanwhile, are available to stream on Disney+ at this time.
